Recording a fridge reading in Lemon: in range, ticked, done.

Morning and evening, split for you

Lemon splits the day into AM and PM checking periods with a clear noon boundary, matching the twice-daily routine EHOs expect. The home screen shows exactly which units still need a reading, so nothing slips through a busy service.

In range, or flagged the moment it is not

Every fridge, freezer and hot-hold you add carries its own target range, pre-filled with sensible defaults you can adjust. Tap in the reading on a large numpad and Lemon tells you instantly whether it is in range. An out-of-range reading opens a tracked issue with a corrective action, which is exactly the paper trail HACCP Principle 5 asks for.

An audit trail you can stand behind

Readings cannot be quietly edited after the fact. If someone logs a mistake, a manager voids the entry with a note and the original stays visible on the record. Every reading carries who logged it and when, which is what makes a digital log credible at inspection.

What you get

Common questions

How often should fridge temperatures be recorded?

Twice a day is the routine most UK EHOs expect: once at opening and once later in the day. Lemon is built around that rhythm, with separate morning and evening checking periods so a missed check is visible immediately.

What temperature should a commercial fridge be?

Keep chilled food at 5°C or below in practice. The legal maximum in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 8°C, but running at 5°C or below gives you a safety margin. Lemon pre-fills a 0°C to 5°C target range for fridges, which you can adjust per unit.

Can a reading be edited after it is saved?

No. Records in Lemon are immutable once saved, which is what makes them trustworthy at inspection. If someone enters a mistake, a manager can void the entry with a note, and the original stays on the audit trail.

Will an EHO accept digital temperature records?

Yes. EHOs accept digital records provided they are complete, available during the inspection and exportable. Lemon shows any day's checks in a couple of taps and exports a clean PDF on the spot.

How many fridges and freezers can I add?

As many as your kitchen has. Lemon is a flat £19 per month per location with unlimited units and unlimited team members, so you are never priced per fridge or per user.
